and the bottom line is..

we try.

and yet the truth is it sucks when you know..

that ...

some people don't even bother trying... and some day I will give up trying myself.

Lost

Nope. not me.. the television series is BACK.

Season 4 starts on 31st January 2008 but only for 8 episodes due to the writer's strike. Can they just go on writing please?

=S

why 为什么 pourquoi

I just don't get why some people in this world who doesn't deserve to die pass on... (i believe you would know who I am talking about and I am deeply saddened by the fact I wished it is an Internet prank)... while others alive choose to live their lives in manners totally INCOMPREHENSIBLE. C'est fou! Just when I start getting motivated and determined in my life to actually know what is next in life for me. I am hit back to reality to be reminded by la précarité de la vie...

:(

speechless. loss of words. loss of faith in humankind in general.

just wondering

I wonder if it is a cultural difference, or is it just a matter of life style? or well, you may say both are linked in a sense of another. Maybe I've been away for some time and not quite in sync with the Singaporean way of doing things...

So I login to my school's forum for one of the cross faculty modules and looked through what people in Singapore are discussing right now in class and I see questions about the first assignment... basically we are suppose to match online articles to our syllabus topics. So without much knowledge of what the topic is about, the test here is to see how well you can relate these articles to the respective topics. 5 articles to 5 different topics. Can't get clearer than that.

And questions such as "Can we look for articles from scientific journals?", "what is this topic about?", "what if one of my articles overlaps with another topic?", "do we need to explain why the article is chosen?"... the best question i've seen thus far...

One of the requirement of this assignment is to name the file that you are going to upload in the format of ... and therefore, the question goes...
"do we need to actually include the "brackets" in the name of the file?"

This is seriously it.

Are you just being overly cautious, or is there no limit to plain stupidity? I don't know if it is because I've been overseas and perhaps got this 'slack' mentality in me or whether it is a fact that this is my last semester and final year that I can't really be bothered about academic results...

so people, if you have the time, don't just do traveling as tourists overseas.PLEASE I seek your understanding in this matter as I strongly feel that it enhances your overall well being as a member of the society... Engage yourself in the different cultures in this splendid world that we have and embrace all the differences and diversities. It can only benefit you.

Phew...

so the end is approaching...

you know how they say time passes real quickly when you are having fun?

I guess it passes by quickly no matter what you are doing.
My 5 months stay in Paris is approaching to an end and boy have I got so used to sitting at my window looking out at the stadium, looking at the people play soccer in the cold, random residents going in and out of the accomodation and joggers at the track, where at 10pm each night, no matter what happens on the field, the flood lights go off, and it makrs the end of the day.

Well, at least outside the window.

In my room, the past week or so living alone in a double room after my room mate returned to Singapore, I've been busy studying for my exam, or at least made the effort to study. Find the French language hard to understand or master as a tourist? Try taking examinations, having to write essays arguing your point and proving examples amongst the French students while having only 2 years of experience. Well, that being said and done... marks almost the end of my academic life in Paris at this moment as I might/ might not be returning here for further studies.

The life of a tourist surfaces again. After my 4th paper, and having about 12 days of break b4 the last one, I went for some retail therapy and stayed out till 9+pm, something I'ven't done for a long time. Pretty much at night when you are alone, you don't really go out...

Well, happens that it was Friday as well and Le Musée du Louvre has l'entrée gratuite for all those below 26 after 6pm and so I went in...

Hmm, at some point in time, I saw people sitting at random spaces reproducing the art pieces in front of them, jotting down notes, drawing them etc... and suddenly something that I felt long time ago but lost it came back to me. The urge to draw... I used to like drawing, and thought naïvely that I could one day, become an artist. The 'ambition' gave way to practicality and the material world, especially in our culture typiquement Singaporean. oh well, I think I might go take up some classes in drawing.

As for my stay in Paris, in the 18ème arrondisement of Clignancourt, I would think that... I had a blast. Too much for me to explain to everyone, and like dearest Lian put into words, it's mine and only mine. It's hard for others to understand... Of course at times I wished I had my friends to be by my side so I can exclaim "oh man, look at that man peeing at the corner!!", or "hey.... where do you wanna go next? what do you wanna see at the Louvre next? What do you want to eat for dinner?" ... or simply, what time do we meet tomorrow?

Hmm, one thing for people who plan to travel Europe, ome before you hit 25. or better, have a student card because it really cuts down the costs.

hmmm, ok ok... in conclusion, well somethings in life just don't come to you. Go search for it, go live it, go experience it because you only have this once to try everything. Like it or hate it, succeed or fail terribly, at least you had the experience.

never drink malibu with fizzy apple soda and have coffee with milk and couscous and orange soda and chocolate and banana on the same night.

Arghx...

*listening to the same song (Melt the snow by Shayne Ward on two laptops' Itunes at the same time is so cool... it's just like having surround sound system!)
